The invention relates to the binding of blocks made from profiled binding members and paper layers with correspondingly profiled edge recesses.
The objective is to design the binding process in a manner which saves paper and improves performance.
This is achieved by separating off individual, relatively thin paper layers (3) from sheet layers (6) supplied in block thickness and by threading in the paper layers by a compressive, stroking movement of a finger strip (48), the circular binding members (2) being positioned at defined distances apart in grooves (31) in a support table arrangement (28, 29) and retained by clamping fingers (32) engaging on the top.
In this block production, uniform quality of the product and a maintenance-free device with increased performance are guaranteed.
