Gas-filled, sealed, telescopic cylinders (5) are linked by a flexible chain to form an endless band around two toothed pulleys (2) turning on axles (4). Each cylinder has external bearings (3) running in guide rails (6) whose track widens from top to bottom. The entire assembly is immersed in a tank (1) of water. As a cylinder travels downwards, the guide rails allow it to expand. The increased displacement produces an upwards force. Power output is adjustable by altering the track width by means of the spring-loaded piston (7, 8). |
