PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always obtain a very excellent transferred image, by making transferring means such as a transfer roll surely evaded form the toner soiling, even if a jamming of a transfer material occurs, in a transferring device. SOLUTION: In connection with the transferring device, it is detected that the presence or absence of sharp variation of the impressed bias voltage or current by bias impressing means, in the reaching transfer part estimated time zone (To) of the transfer material. This device is provided with controlling means for controlling, based on the described detecting information, the impressing operation of the bias impressing means in the case of the transferring device equipped with non-contact type transferring means, or for controlling the contact/uncontact operation of transferring means in the case of the transferring device equipped with contact type transferring means. |
