PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To concentrate the exposure intensity of a laser light beam within one picture element and to excellently reproduce half tone and a thin line without increasing a cost as for an image forming device and an image forming method by which a latent image is formed while an image carrier is scanned by the laser light beam flickering based on an image signal. SOLUTION: An output control wave having one peak within the writing time of the respective picture elements is generated by an output control wave generation means 5. Then, the output control wave is turned on/off in the timing of an exposure control signal outputted from an exposure control means 7 by a gate circuit 6. Besides, this output is converted to the driving current wave of an exposure device 3 by a V/I converter 14. Based on it, the laser light beam is controlled to be emitted. Thus, the exposure energy of the exposure device 3 can be concentrated within the exposure time of the respective picture elements and the mutual interference of the picture elements can be reduced. |
