PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a image forming device capable of improving print quality, by removing an deteriorated layer on a surface, and preventing deterioration of a transfer performance, in connection with the image forming device controlling the operation of grinding means corresponding to electric resistance of the surface of an intermediate transfer body. SOLUTION: The image forming device performs a primary transfer of the toner image formed on the image forming body 1 onto the intermediate transfer body 5, performs the secondary transfer of the first transferred toner image onto an intermediate recording medium 8 by a transfer means 9, and is provided with a cleaning means 10 cleaning of the surface of the intermediate transfer body 5 after the secondary transfer. Further, the device is provided with a grinding means 15 brought into contact with the intermediate transfer body 5 and retreated therefrom, for grinding the deteriorated layer on the surface of the intermediate transfer body 5 at the time of butting thereto, and at least, and a resistance measuring means 20 for measuring the electric resistance of the intermediate transfer body 5, after the secondary transfer by the transfer means 9. Moreover, the device is composed that the operation of the grinding means 15 is controlled corresponding to a measured result by the resistance measuring means 20. |
