<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the propriety of gas supply by non-destructively measuring the quantity of water entering the inside of pipe burried underground. SOLUTION: This device comprises radiation irradiating means to irradiates a pipe 1 with radiation; transmitted radiation measuring means 3 to detect the radiation transmitted through the pipe 1, convert the same into an electric signal and output it; a retaining member 4 to retain the transmitted radiation measuring means 3 as well as the radiation irradiation means 2 on the object to be detected; determining means 50 to perform comparison between a reference value specified according to the dia. and the quality of the pipe 1 and the electric signal, estimate the quantity of water W entering the inside of the pipe 1, and then determine the propriety of gas supply; and determination result dispaly means 55 to display the result. This device is further provided with correction means 57 to correct the quantity of transmitted radiation influenced by natural destruction; and numerical value display means to display the results of calculation after caluculating the quantity of entering water as a divided- circle height (h). The propriety of supplying gas to an existing gas pipe can therefore be determined and displayed speedily in a non-destructive manner.</p> |
