PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the correspondence of an original sentence and a translated sentence from being destoryed even if an em character/half em character conversion is performed for the translated sentence. SOLUTION: After performing a translation distribution processing, a part 15 converts the continuous null codes in a translated sentence into plural characters null codes (a control code + the number of half-size null code) and stores the codes in a translated sentence buffer 14. A plural characters null extension part 18 converts the plural characters null codes in the translated sentence into the continuous null codes. A synthetic edition part 17 takes the correspondence of the translated sentence after this conversion and an original sentence and prepares synthetic edited document information. A display control part 19 displays the synthetic edited document on a display part 20. When an em character/half em character conversion processing is performed, a storage contents correction part 24 reduces/extends the length of the null part behind the structural unit for which the according to the number of character of the structural unit. Thus, at the time of the em character/half em character conversion is performed conversion processing, the leading location of each structural unit is fixed and the correspondence of the original sentence and the translated sentence is prevented from being destroyed. |
