PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of crosstalks by the degradation in the off characteristic of a semiconductor active element and the degradation in a display contrast. SOLUTION: The light exit surface of an active matrix substrate 14b of a liquid crystal display panel 14 and the light incident surface of a light exit side polarizing means 13b are brought into tight contact with each other. A single layer film coating or multilayered film coatings 21 having a wavelength range of 400 to 450nm and surface reflection of <=0.5% are formed on the light exit surface of the light exit side polarizing means 13b. As a result, the internal reflection at the light exitting surface of the active matrix substrate 14b and the external reflection at the light incident surface 13b of the light exit side polarizing means are decreased nearly to 0% and the internal reflection of the wavelength region of 400 to 450nm at the light exit surface of the light exit side polarizing means 13b is decreased to <=0.5%. Then, the degradation in the off characteristic of the semiconductor active element 17 disposed on the active matrix substrate 14b hardly arises.
