PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display stereoscopic pictures with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: Six active matrix areas 103-108 are integrated on the same glass substrate. Then, different orientation processing means are arranged in the group of areas 103-105 and the group of areas 106-108. Thus, the picture constituted of the group of areas 103-105 and the picture constituted of the group of areas 106 108 are made to be pictures whose polarization direction arc different by 90 degrees. Then, two pictures can be independently seen with left and right eyes and stereoscopic pictures are seen by seeing projected pictures overlapped with pictures formed in the active matrix areas 103-108 with both eyes while using glasses transmitting different polarized lights. |
