PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color electrophotographic device capable of realizing a high speed and high resolution and capable of reducing a color overlap drift caused by the light beam scanning by multiple light sources. SOLUTION: A scanning optical system 3 is provided with the first light source 4a, the second light source 4b, the first shaping lens 5a and the second shaping lens 5b shaping the light beams from multiple light sources, a polygon mirror 7 deflecting the light beam, an fθlens 8 scanning the deflected light beam on a photoreceptor at a uniform speed to form an image, and a synchronization detector 9 detecting the synchronization of the scanned light beams. The light source irradiating the first line data at the time of light beam irradiation by each color image data is determined among multiple light sources based on the signals of the synchronization detector 9 and a position detector detecting the reference position for image-overlapping the transfer medium transferred with a color toner image at each development by each color toner.
