PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obviate the degradation in the taking-out efficiency E on a green LED chip side where light emission efficiency is inferior and the additional darkening of this side. SOLUTION: A lamp unit is composed of a monochromatic lamp unit 4 mounted with two pieces of the LED chips 5G on the side where the light emission efficiency of the one color of two colors is low and a double color lamp unit 3 mounted with one piece each of the LED chips 5R, 5G of the light emission colors of two colors. This LED matrix display 1 is constituted by alternately arranging these monochromatic lamp units 4 and the double color lamp units 3 in both column and row directions. The taking-out efficiency of the light of the LED chips of the two colors is made the same by making it possible to arrange the LED chips in the positions symmetrical with the centers of the lamp units. The degradation of the taking-out efficiency on one side and the darkening of the display are thus averted. |
