<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a counting method in which the number of persons in a prescribed region inside a room is counted precisely without storing an unmanned environment inside the room in advance. SOLUTION: When a thermal-image measuring part 1 measures a thermal image in a television-viewer region inside a room, a heat-source-pixel extraction part 2 extracts the block of a pixel by the thermal image. In a number-of-pixels and person identification part 3, whether a person exists or not in the block is identified on the basis of the number of pixels in the extracted block. In a number-of-temperature-maximum-values and person identification part 4, the number of temperature maximum values of the pixel in the block is counted as the number of persons. In a highest-temperature and person identification part 5, whether a person exists or not is identified according to the highest temperature of the pixel in the block. A number-of-viewers computing part 6 computes the number of viewers on the basis of information from the number- of-pixels and person identification part 3, the number-of-temperature-maximum- values and person identification part 4 and the highest-temperature and person identification part 5.</p> |
