HIGH SPEED QUALITY EVALUATION SYSTEM FOR EXTRUDED GRANULATED GOODS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically evaluate the quality of noodle-like molded goods at a high speed and to classify the goods by evaluating the quality of the noodle-like molded goods extruded from grid-like holes from the surface shapes. SOLUTION: A hierarchizing means 3 generates hierarchical structures for respective spatial frequency bands different in spatial frequencies, by a two-dimensional discrete wavelet-conversion of the image-picked-up signal of a video camera 2. A background separation/feature extraction means 4 separates the background of the noodle-like goods 1 and extracts image data of the noodle- like goods 1. An outline extraction means 5 executes an inverse wavelet conversion based on the high-order layer of the hierarchical structures so as to extract the outline of the noodle-like goods 1. An image re-composting means 6 executes the inverse wavelet conversion to image elements in the extracted outline to the resolution of the lowest layer of the hierarchical structure so as to obtain reproduced image data obtained by detaching respective noodle-like goods 1. A quality estimation means 7 having a multilayered perceptron-type neural network evaluates the surface state of the noodle-like goods 1 on the re-constituted image.
