摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly feed an optical fiber unit with a force at an optimum speed by providing slack detectors on both the input and output sides of an intermediate forced feed device and controlling the sending-in speed of the optical fiber unit and the forced feed speed of an air forced feed part. SOLUTION: A 1st forced feed device A is installed at the start end of a fiber passing pipe 4 and a 2nd forced feed device B is installed at an intermediate halfway point. Further, the slack detector 11 is arranged on the input side of the 2nd forced feed device B and the slack detector 12 is detected on the exit side. The slack detectors 11 and 12 outputs speed control signals, which are inputted to a forced feed device control part 15. When the output-side slack detector 12 for the fiber passing head 1 of the 2nd forced feed device B detects a slack of the optical fiber unit 10, an air control valve 16 is opened by one unit so that the slack will substantially be zero. When the input-side slack detector 11 for the fiber passing head of the 2nd forced feed device B detects a slack of the optical fiber unit 10, a pinch roller 6 is increased in speed by one unit so that the slack will substantially be zero.
