PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the discharge of unburned combustible component in a heating furnace. SOLUTION: In this operating method, regenerative combustion burners 1a to 1d having fuel injection nozzles 3a to 3d for injecting fuel substantially in parallel with the flow of combustion air are disposed around the flow of the combustion air supplied from burner throats 2a to 2d into a furnace via a thermal storage material. When the fuel supply amounts of the nozzles 3a to 3d are a predetermined amount or more, fuel is supplied from the entire nozzles 3a to 3d. When the fuel supply amounts becomes less than the predetermined amount, the fuel supply to the nozzle on the line for connecting the central axis of the throat of the burning burner adjacent to the central axis of the throat of the burner for exhausting the combustion exhaust gas and the vicinity of the line is shut off, the fuel is supplied from the other nozzle to burn it. Thus, the combustion efficiency is not lowered. |
