OPTICAL RECORDING/REPRODUCING DEVICE AND METHOD USING SINGLE LIGHT-ABSORBING BODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfy a practical condition obtaining a signal with a high speed and an excellent SN ratio and to realize an ultrahigh density recording by classifying plural pieces of signals outputted from a converged light spot at every wavelength and detecting light intensity. SOLUTION: This optical recording/reproducing device adopts a multi- wavelength recording method making a light-absorbing body surrounded by an optically transparent medium a recording medium and using the presence of light of a specified wavelength radiated from a unit of the light-absorbing body to optical recording/reproducing. As a means converging the radiated light, a planar metallic reflection surface is provided on the rear side when viewing from a recording/reproducing light irradiation side while sticking to the recording medium, and all radiated light from the recording medium are reflected. And, the reflected light is led to a photodetector array as a means spectrally separating light through a reflection mirror and a red-pass filter, detecting the light intensities at every specified wavelength and making correspond to recording information.
