A radio communication device, such as a portable telephone set, or a beeper, and a cover into which such a communication device is inserted. The cover ensures the safety of the user of the radio communication device by blocking a significant amount of electromagnetic waves harmful to the user's body. Prescribed parts of the radio communication device and the cover are covered with an electromagnetic wave shielding material. In addition, the user of the device arbitrarily sticks an electromagnetic wave shielding sheet, made of an electromagnetic wave shielding material and coated with an adhesive, to the device or to both sides of the cover cloth which is the base of the cover. Therefore, the safety of the body of the user is ensured by protecting the body from electromagnetic waves radiated from the device.
