PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To offer an idler shaft gear supporting structure for use in a timing gear train, etc., of an engine, which is embodied light and at a low cost and which can reduce noises and vibrations generated when the idler gear is in operation. SOLUTION: A bushing 30, preferably of polyimide resin, is fitted by pressure on a boss of a timing gear, and the bore of the bushing 30 is machined cylindrically, and the first oil grooves are provided as extending in the axial direction. A thrust plate 32, preferably of polyimide resin, is interposed between the axial direction end face of the boss and a thrust stopper, and the second oil grooves extending in the radial direction are furnished, at least at that side face of the thrust plate 32, which is opposing to the thrust stopper 24. It may also be accepted that the bushing and thrust plate are molded in a single piece. |
