MOLD FOR MOLDING A RESIN LENS AND RESIN LENS PRODUCED BY USING THE SAME MOLD

A mold for molding a resin lens for glasses or an optical instrument, and more particularly for precisely molding a concave surface into a non-spherical and/or toroidal surface into a non-spherical and/or toroidal surface such as a hyperboloidal or ellipsoidal surface wherein a cross-sectional configuration of a gasket for the mold can be made constant and wherein only one type of commonly usable gasket is required for respective types of molds. To this end, that surface (A) of the circumferential edge portion of the mold for molding the concave surface that is in contact with the gasket (3) is formed to be in the same plane along the full circumference of the mold, and the height of a surface (B) adjacent to this surface (A) can be changed so that the height (H) of an inner protruding portion (3a) serving as a spacer for the gasket can be constant. In addition, at least two surfaces that are adjacent to the surface (A) are provided so as to improve the sealing performance between the gasket and the mold.
