A product, apparatus and process for lamination of a sheet of polymer film (19) onto a sheet of light weight web material (4). An incoming sheet (4) of material is slit into narrow webs (9), which may be folded by a folding guide (13), and separated by use of turning bars (12) and guides (56). The narrow webs (9) then enter an embossing or laminating station (15). The lamination process joins the two sheets which are of different widths to allow the process to produce stock for different final products. The laminate (21) of folded webs (9) and polymer (19) may be slit and/or unfolded prior to being stored on a take-up reel (30).
