The PTY selecting method of an RDS receiver includes the steps of: judging whether a function of the RDS receiver is the PTY function; deciding to store the PTY selected at present, if the function of the RDS receiver detected in the above step is the PTY function, and storing it; and deciding to select a new PTY, and selecting the new PTY by the processing process.
