DEVICE FOR CHEMICAL OR ELECTROLYTIC SURFACE TREATMENT OF PLATE-LIKE OBJECTS

A device for the chemical or electrolytic surface treatment of plate-like objects takes the form of a flow cell and has first feed elements in the form of tubes with outlet apertures for directing a process fluid onto the objects being treated. It also has additional second feed elements in the process fluid for introducing air into the operating region of guide elements consisting of a flow grid kept at a distance from and on either side of the objects undergoing treatment and provided with blades arranged in a "Venetian blind" pattern and inclined upwards or downwards in a direction parallel to the principal plane of the plate-like objects. This principle of introducing air combined with the design of the guide elements as a flow grid ensures that the air bubbles discharged from the flow grid climb and carry the surrounding process fluid with them. The result is a considerable improvement of the relation between the technical complexity of the forced guidance of the process fluid for the optimisation of the process parameters and the associated energy consumption.
