An apparatus for controlling card power and signal transmission of a electric device is provided to avoid damage of a card. The apparatus comprises two card insertion detection patterns(11,11a,11b,12,12a,12b) which connects both surface of a card(3) and are formed on both sides of patterns(3a,3b) of the card(3) so as to be short to make contact with an extension slot later than a power of the card(3) and the plurality of signal transmission patterns(3a,3b); two card insertion detection slot contact portions(21,22) which make contact with the card insertion detection patterns(11,12) and in which a power is applied to one side contact point(21a,22a) thereof and the other side contact point(21b) is grounded, thereby detecting the insertion of the card(3) and which are installed on both sides of the power of the extension slot(2) and a signal transferring contact point; a control section(30) for enabling a signal transferring control signal by enabling and delaying for a predetermined time when both the two card insertion detection slot contact portions(21,22) detect card insertion; a card power supplying portion(40) which supplies a power to the card(3) through the extension slot(2) by card power supplying signals of the control section(30); and a three state buffer portion(50) which enables the signal transferring between the body(1) and the card(3) by the signal transferring control signal of the control section(30).
