The claimed switch arresting device (1a) comprises a hollow cylindrical housing (2a) along the inner wall of which an interior element (3a) can slide longitudinally and is subjected to the force of a compression spring (6) fitted between a floor (5) of the housing (2a) and the interior element. An end-position stop element (10a) is provided between the housing (2a) and interior element (3a) to limit the adjustment path. According to the invention, the interior element (3a) can slide longitudinally in the housing (2a) by means of a sliding bearing (4) and is provided between the tubular sections of the interior element (3a) and housing (2a), to create an end-position stop element (10a) for one of these components, with a radially protruding tab (11a) which exerts a spring force and clicks into a recess (12a) in the neighbouring component.
