The mechanism is particularly for a fuel-injection pump, having a roughly semicircular recess in a tappet or rocker lever (2) and in which the roller (3), which has no spindle, fits loose. The recess is formed by a bearing shell (6) fitting in a mating recess (7) in the tappet etc., and with a locking device (8, 9) preventing movement in the axial direction. It is roughly semicylindrical. It has stop faces (10) at the ends by which it fits over the roller. The locking device can consist of a protrusion beyond the outside of the shell, engaging in a notch (9) in the recess in the tappet etc. The stops can consist of lugs protruding from the shell lengthwise edge.
