Solid object measuring method e.g. for large buildings

The method involves movement of an image sensor (e.g. CCD camera) (3) along a known or measured spatial curve while short- and long-range images of the object (4) are recorded. The short-range image is enlarged so that image points are shifted towards the edges, and object points outstanding from the background are shifted further. The viewing angle of the camera remains approximately unaltered during the measurement. Homologous image and object points are correlated by an image-processing system which recalculates the central projection and compares it with a pattern.
