The two-part container (1) holds one or more food carriers (11). The carrier has several compartments (13), which are separated by rails (14). Compartments and container side walls (16) have edges (12). The compartments are sealed relative to each other by sealing elements, which are located on the inside of the upper container section (18), and rest on the rails. The sealing elements are formed by press-down elements (23) for an inner cover. This closes the food carrier, so that the elements press the inner cover onto the rails.
