The steering wheel lock has a lock cylinder rotating in a cylindrical housing and operates on a drive shaft via a cam coupling incorporating a torque limiter. The drive shaft has one inner section which rotates with the lock cylinder and which is displaced axially, and an outer shell which couples to the cam drive for the locking bolt. The lock has a safety interlock which prevents the lock from locking until the key is fully withdrawn. Its construction is such that if force is applied then the torque limiter prevents forcing of the bolt release. ADVANTAGE - Simple, compact design, improved security against forcing.
