Firearm to discharge bullets or projectiles

The firearm is used to discharge bullets or projectiles, and has a firing pin (8) which acts upon igniting equipment. The mass of the pin is reduced. The pin may be made from a material which has a reduced density, and this may be a metal or alloy such as titanium, aluminium, magnesium, beryllium, zirconium, vanadium, barium, or chrome. It may be in the form of a core which is at least partly surrounded by a coating. The latter may also not cover the striking surface and/or the firing point of the core.
