The rail vehicle has at least one bank (3) of two seats in the passenger compartment (2) which can be moved from its normal transverse position for use by passengers by turning it in the horizontal plane into a position allowing for the parking of bicycles or other objects. It may be possible to turn the seat bank about a vertical axis (4) fitted to the vehicle wall. Its turning angle, relative to the transverse position, may be 30 deg . The seat bank may have a seat surface (3b) which can be folded up against the backrest (3a).
