Disclosed is an apparatus to brake a winding reel in a magnetic recorder/replayer. The apparatus comprises a brake lever, the first and second elastic materials. The brake lever applies a braking force to the winding reel table. The first elastic material is connected between the brake lever and the base plate to apply a braking force to the brake lever. The second elastic material controls the braking force to the brake lever. Thereby, the operation can be efficiently performed with a simpl structure.
