The process and device are intended for the low-temperature separation of air in a rectifier column system having a medium (4) and a low-pressure column (5). The air (1, 104) is fed into the medium-pressure column (4) in which a nitrogen-enriched head fraction and an oxygen-enriched bottom fraction are produced. At least part of the latter fraction is fed (8, 12) into the low-pressure column (5). The head condenser (7) of the medium-pressure column is operated with evaporated oxygen-enriched bottom fluid (8) from the medium-pressure column (4); the bottom evaporator (22) of the low-pressure column (5) is heated with nitrogen (21) from the low-pressure column, which has previously been recompressed (20) to a suitable pressure. |
