A hosing locking device of a VCR in which generation of over stroke is accomplished by a plate spring. The device comprises a carrier(21) into which a cassette is inserted; a bracket arm(25) which is engaged with a wall of the carrier(21); a front bar(29) and a rear bar(29) which engage the bracket arm(25) on the front and rear side of the bracket arm(25); a fixing bracket(32) which supports the rear end of the bracket arm(25) to make the bracket arm rotatable; a deck chassis(36) in which the structure is positioned; a lever rock(27) which is resiliently supported by a side of the bracket arm(25) to position the bracket arm(25) in the deck chassis(36); and a stopper rock(37) which is installed in the deck chassis(36); bending portions(21A, 21B) which are respectively formed on the front and rear side of left and right side walls of the carrier(21); bending portions(25C, 25D) which is formed in the bracket arm(25) so as to engage with the bending portions(21A, 21B); plate springs(22, 23) which are engaged with the front and rear bending portions of the carrier(21) and the bracket arm(25) to provide compression and restoring forces of the front bar(29) and the rear bar(30); burring portions(21C, 21D) which are formed on the left and right side walls of the carrier(21); vertical apertures(25A, 25B) which are engaged with the burring portions and are formed in the bracket arm(25) to obtain over stroke when the cassette is mounted.
