The equipment is for a hinging window or door, preventing forced entry. The rail (4) slides via its first flange (5) on the fixed frame and parallel to it between the locked and free positions. The second flange (6), parallel to the first, fits round the edge of the hinging leaf (2) in the locked position. Locking devices (8,9) on the first flange secure the rail in the locked position at least. The first flange can be secured to the fixed frame by two or more screws passing through slots in the flange, and which engage in recesses in the slot ends in the locked position.
