The sliding door (1) controlled by a motor (8) is fitted with a contact detector (9,11) at each end to guard against damage or injury to obstacles in its path. An optical link is maintained by a horizontal beam (14) from a transmitter (13) near its leading end (in the direction of closure) to a receiver (15) fixed to a prop (16) near the motor cabinet (7). The mobile transmitter is powered by a battery (17) which is recharged when the primary and secondary windings (18,19) of a transformer come together in the fully-open position. |
