The head has at least two inlet (1) and at least two outlet (1') valves. They are each controlled by individual camshafts (2,2'). Several controllers lie between the camshaft's cams (3,3') and the valves. The base circle diameters (DGE) of the inlet valve's camshaft's cams differ from those (DGA) of the outlet's. Preferably, the diameters (DNE,DNA) of the camshafts themselves also differ. The controllers, which may incorporate tip or drag levers (5,5'), can likewise lie on axes (4,4') of differing diameters (DSE,DSA). The sizes of each set of diameters preferably does not exceed 20%.
