The manipulator functions as a control switch with analogue outputs for its two coordinates. A collar encloses the actuating lever, sealing this against water and dirt. The analogue signals of the switch are converted by electronic units into digital signals that signal to an industrial computer the actual position of the manipulator from second to second. A microprocessor produces from the signals, the movement of a cursor on the screen of a monitor.
