The bucket (2), for picking-up garbage and/or soot (46) from chimneys (48), has a flat shovel-like element (14) arranged in the vicinity of the bucket rim (4) which has a free edge (16) that bonds when put on a plane floor (18) or wall surface (17). The shovel-like element may diverge above or out from the bucket rim, and may have a plane base surface (15). The free edge of the shovel-like element may extend straight, whilst the shovel-like element may have an approximate right-angled base surface. It may further have a perpendicular lead area (23) on both its sides (21) to its base surface, that may be inclined inwards or above.
