IR opto=electronic imaging system for broadband applications

The system includes an optical receiver which focuses radiation from an observed field onto a detector. An optical field sweep device rotates the image in the detection field using a circular sweep. The detector is positioned radially in the plane and is formed from either two or three bar detectors which are sensitive to two or three distinct spectral bands. A number of different detectors are used which are shifted radially and can cover a number of different coaxial fields e.g. a central field and a peripheral annular field. A digital processor adds and subtracts detected video channels to produce an image which is projected onto a monitor screen.
