The present invention provides process for preparing octopamin which used for pharmacological, metabolic research as a radioactive isotope labelled compound. More particularly, process for preparing octopamin as a radioactive isotope labelled compound reacting thionyl chloride, diazomethane, LiA1H4, NaH and ethanethiol by turns, after producing p-methoxybenzoacid reacting carbon dioxide with substituted radioactive isotope with p-methoxyphenylmagnesium bromide.
