At least one area of at least one of the side panels (5) of the roof section (2) of the horsebox can pivot upwards around a horizontal axis. The roof section is formed mainly from only one cover (4) and this has at least two vertical closable slots, preferably in the edges of the roof section. The cover sections forming the side panels of the roof section are each stiffened by means of a retractable frame which is mounted to pivot in the frame (3) of the roof section.
