The present invention refers to a locking system for sliding doors or windows assembly of the type having a fixed frame and a movable frame, said system comprising a support plate fixedly coupled to an upper surface of the movable frame, said support plate having a central fastening guide, a front stop means and a rear stop means. A movable means comprising a coupling section which is coupled to the central fastening guide; said movable means having a retaining wall at one end thereof for engagement with the fix profile edge upon coupling of the sliding door or window, and a supporting section for locking disengagement. And flexion means located between the support plate and movable means, to maintain the engagement position between the retaining wall and the fix frame edge.
