A wheelchair which comprises an articulated back 1 consisting of two parts with adjustable tilt via the tie- rod 3. According to the invention, the seat 4, consisting of two parts, rolls forwards and is supported on the foot column 7, providing the space 6 for penetration into the area of the bed. The pedals for the feet 13 are articulated and move backwards and forwards. The two manual levers 9 are the extension of the columns which support the pedals. It has an articulated central structure 14 for opening up or folding the chair. The invention is intended for people with paralyzed lower limbs and for the elderly, especially those effected by thromboses. <IMAGE>
