FIELD: shaft furnaces for roasting lump materials, lime for example; manufacture of building materials; metallurgy, chemical industry and other industries. SUBSTANCE: shaft furnace contains refractory shaft, loading and unloading devices, one or several tiers of fuel feed devices and waste gas exhaust device. Section of shaft extending through 0.2 to 0.7 of furnace height and located above upper tier of fuel feed devices is made in such form that area of shaft cross section in this section is equal to 0.15-0.75 of area of cross section of shaft at level of lower tier of fuel feed devices. EFFECT: improved quality of lime, increased output of furnace, increased service life of lining and reduced specific consumption of fuel. 1 dwg |
