Connection element for joining two male electric contact terminals

The electrical connector element comprises a body made of good conducting material having a core (1) and two side walls. The side walls are folded around to meet each other in order to define a channel open at its two ends. Each end is intended to receive a male contact tongue. The central core of the connector element includes cut-out regions which define four tongues within the area of the core. These regions form tongues (20) which possess a degree of elasticity and are bent down towards the opposite side of the channel. A further plate of elastic material (30) may then be added to the outside of the connector element in order to urge the contact tongues downwards.
