The seat (1) has a front (2) and a rear actuating element (3) and is rotatably coupled to the chair carcass by a rotation axis (4), located in the seat middle, or in the region of the gravity centre of the person sitting in the chair. The adjustment of inclination of the seat is done without manual operation. The limit of the rotary angle is provided by front (5) and rear stops (6) in the chair front and rear edge sections respectively. Pref. the height of the actuating elements in so chosen as to cooperate with the respective edges of the stops.
