Rooting zone fertility improvement method for land to be use in agriculture especially open pit dumps

The method comprises placing a homogenous layer of fertilizer or melioration on the surface of the land to be worked. The ground improvement material is then worked into a first partial mix using a harrow with the surface to a depth of 15% to 30% of a rooting layer. A second mix uses a deep plough to take this up to 55% to 80% of the rooting layer, and a third mix involves an intensive mixing of the whole rooting layer using a deep milling tool. The worked layer should be somewhere in the region of 0.7m and 1.70m deep.
