摘要 The vehicle is fitted with sensors for wheel speed as well as with motion sensors for transverse and longitudinal motion. The processor control monitors the degree of drift, eg. during cornering, and counteracts the drift by selective braking of the front and rear wheels. The rear wheel braking can be large and is lifted if the lateral acceleration is less than a programmed value. The vehicle stability is computed taking into account vehicle speed and the setting of the steering. This enables slew correction to be computed and applied. The lateral acceleration is also taken as not significant if the ratio of lateral acceleration to longitudinal acceleration is less than a set value.
