The switch has a switch housing (2) with at least one stationary contact and a cooperating switch contact operated by movement of a setting element (14) against a spring return force between at least 2 switch positions. The setting element is acted on by an operating element (18), with a return spring (34) between the latter and the switch housing causing the operating element to be returned to its initial position independent of the position of the setting element.
