The switch has a housing containing cooperating stationary and moving switch contacts, controlled by an operating wiper (2), which is displaced from a neutral position into 4 function positions by movement about its pivot axis. Respective operating rods (5) are positioned below the operating rocker in each function position, for controlling 4 movable contacts (8), with an intermediate 2-armed lever (20) between the wiper and each pair of operating rods, for operation of one or other of the latter.
